Copyrights and music

I don’t think downloading music off the net is a big issue. Or let’s say, it shouldn’t be an issue anymore. Yes, it’s not fair for the producers of such file, but the world is changing and I feel that it’s time for the industry to change too. Some music artists, for example, give their own albums out to the public. They give up on earning money from selling their music files, but rather focus on promoting it by making it available to anyone. You think they’re being stupid- where do they get their money from then, anyway? From performing live. From what singers are supposed to be doing in the first place. In fact, I think they are the smart ones.

Don’t make it look like ‘Oh, you’re killing the dreams and hopes of the musicians’. Even when we do buy the music, of course the musicians do earn money from it, but most goes to the people we do not really want to pay to, like the big production companies. I think the whole music industry turned to lip-syncing and looking good on camera because we are missing the point of music – sure, it’s good to enjoy some music over the machines. But where is the real music? How much REAL MUSIC do we have in our lives nowadays? There is no way you can stop illegal music sharing so why not join in the fun?
