Cyborgs post taggers on Youtube

Katherine Hayles makes an interesting point about humans and cyborgs; that it is human nature to use and be shaped around technology and that human beings and technology have long co evolved. This is evident in the ways humans have always dound new ways of communicating and expressing stories and knowledge, right from the early years where cavemen would carve pictures into the caves to tell their stories. Today it seems Youtube is a very popular way for stories to be told, this is evident in the recent news event where a couple managed to catch two young taggers and hold them captive. They were forced to dance while being filmed by the couple whose house had been tagged until the police arrived. The video was then posted on Youtube.

This to me represented the true cyborg society in which we live in; it shows what people these days are doing to get entertainment over the internet. The fact that the clip was so popular shows how common it is for internet users to be looking for some form of entertainment that may involve the humiliation of others. This also represents how technology has changed the way in which we behave, for example before the creation of Youtube would this couple have felt the need to film the taggers dancing? In my opinion probably not, because they would not have had the satisfaction of entertaing the entire world, as they did today.
